Cork located in the south of Ireland, known with fondness as “The Rebel County” and for its many bridges. It is the second largest city after our neighbour Dublin. There are lots of sights and things to do in the City & County for the visitor. Just a short trip into the City is where you will find the Bus Station or Railway Station giving easy access for exploring neighboring towns and villages.
Just a little sample of what Cork City has to offer, on our doorstep here at Audley House B&B just across the road is the beautiful grounds of University College Cork (UCC). Take time to visit the College itself and enjoy a tour of the College. Enjoy the wonderful stonework, grounds and layout of the College. Visit the Honan Chapel onsite, popular for many Cork Weddings, with its wonderful stained glass windows. While strolling in the grounds call into the Lewis Glucksman Gallery and see one of its many exhibitions, you will also appreciate the new architecture of this building, the new amoungst the old.
Just behind Audley House B&B, you can enjoy some peace and quite in the beautiful public park and gardens that is Fitzgeralds Park. Here also you will find Cork Museum, where you can immerse yourself in the history of by gone years in Ireland. During the Summer enjoy a waterside walk in the park. Well know for its wonderful flowers and plants, fountain and its many outdoor sculptures and statues. Across the water you will find Cork City old Gaol, a fine example of olden stone masonery and lets you delve into some of Cork history.
Take a stroll into the city, explore The English Market, have some lunch there. Afterwards enjoy a Hop On and Hop Off bus tour of Cork City, taking in some of the city’s best known attractions ranging from St Finbarr’s Cathedral, Shandon, The Butter Museum and Blackrock Castle etc.

Cork Airport & Ferry Port Ringaskiddy are all just a short drive from Audley House B&B. Why not pick up you rent a car at Cork Airport or downtown. Cork is very popular for it renowned Cork Guiness Jazz Festival, Cork Choral Festival, Cork Folk Music Festival, Cork Film Festival, St. Patrick’s Day Festival just a sample of some Cork City festivals not to be missed. Lots of our Irish towns and villages will have some entertainment on offer, even wonderful farmers market in the Summer months.
